Hi! all,
First, thanks to all who responsed to my question below and
gave me some thought.
I have tried many ways and I still don't get the result
that I am looking for, is because I can't passing the
encrypted password inside the script. I will leave it
open for the future research...
For now, I have an easy and secure solution on my own by
creating the warning message and put it under /sbin/rc3.d/xxx and link
it to /sbin/init.d/xxx so, it will send me an e-mail evry time
the system is rebooted.
Thanks,
/PC

Subject: passing arguments

hello all,
Is anyone knows how to passing the password arguments
under in either UNIX shells: csh? ksh? or sh?
I have a startup script file that required a password
to key in every time in order to start up the application
and it has to run under root priviledge.
So, instead of starting it up manually on every time, I want
to put it on the startup area and each time when the system
is rebooted it should start up itself without someone keying
in the password to start it.
Any idea?
Thanks,
/Pat
