Hi ,
I have problems with ftp timing out to remote sites through an fddi
interface.
With files over 1500 bytes the ftp session just stalled for approx. 10
mins. and
then timed out with no transfer.
This problem was first spotted on an HP server, and I first changed the
MTU size
via HP's lanadmin tool. This did not fix the problem , though later I
found that
the "ftp -b 1 .........." worked ( setting the block size to 1024 bytes
).
We are now seeing the problem on our DEC servers ( fddi interface again
), so the questions are...
1. How can you change the MTU size
And
2. How can you ftp with a block size of 1024 bytes ( DEC's version
of ftp does not have the -b switch )
Thanks in advance
