disk re-partition and restore

Hi all,

just a quick question which probably has a long answer :-).

I'm re-partitioning my disks to add more swap space (due
to a memory increase). The general method I'm going to use
is as follows:

1. Backup the server
2. Repartition disks
3. Re-install a base operating system
4. Restore from tape.

Can anyone highlight any significant problems with this type
of operation and any other things I will need to keep in mind
when doing this procedure.
