I'm installing NIS with enhanced security for the first time.
Our NIS master server is setup and one of the clients are setup, using the
-s security option flag for ypbind.
NIS seems to be running since I can do a ypwhich and ypcat
But am having problems logging in... probably due to enhanced security.
I believe we only have enhanced security running on the NIS master, but
none of the clients.
Does it need to be implemented on all clients to use NIS?
The odd thing I noticed right off is on the NIS master, there are maps for:
auto.master mail.aliases passwd services*
aliases group netgroup protocols*
auto.direct hosts networks* rpc*
and the passwd table has * for passwords, since they are in another
protected file.
So how does NIS know to look in the other file and what step am I missing?!
Thanks!
Dan
