su -c and DU 4.0D

Hi managers,

This last weekend upgraded a number of Alphas from 3.2G to
4.0D and found that the su command no longer allows the
-c switch.

Is there a reason why DEC did this, and are there any suggestions
on how I can get the -c functionality back?
