We recently had the misfortune of a read failure when attempting to
recover data from a "Quantum DLTtape IV" in a Dec TZ887 using Networker
4.2b-12/30.
The following is a sample of the error message durring "nwrecover" or
"Save Set Recover";
Error encountered on the following files by NSR server `nrora2.dnr.state.oh.us': can not read record 99 of file 46 on tz88 tape nrgims1.310
Error encountered on the following files by NSR server `nrora2.dnr.state.oh.us': can not read record 99 of file 46 on tz88 tape nrgims1.310
Error encountered on the following files by NSR server `nrora2.dnr.state.oh.us': can not read record 4711 of file 87 on tz88 tape nrgims1.310
Error encountered on the following files by NSR server `nrora2.dnr.state.oh.us': can not read record 44 of file 47 on tz88 tape nrgims1.310
Error encountered on the following files by NSR server `nrora2.dnr.state.oh.us': can not read record 26 of file 48 on tz88 tape nrgims1.310
The majority of this tape was useless, although I did get some data off
of the end of the tape.
Has anyone else ever experienced a failure with one of these tapes?
