I was having trouble getting the sendmail 8.8 mailertable
feature to work. I didn't get any replies probably because
the answer is so simple and obvious that noone could
believe I hadn't thought of it myself.
The mailertable.db file has to be built separately using
the makemap command that comes with the sendmail distribution.
With this sendmail.cf entry:
Kmailertable hash -o /var/adm/sendmail/mailertable
I used this command to make the map:
makemap -v hash mailertable.db < mailertable
And now everything works as it should.
