Quantum Fireball HDD and DEC?

Hi. I recently purchased a DEC 3000/300 with a Quantum Fireball 1080 (1.08
gig) SCSI hard drive. I keep getting random SCSI errors and am attempting to
diagnose the problem.

Here is the output of a uerf -o full filtered through ua_uerf:

The complete uerf -o full output was too big to post here, so I put it up
here:
http://www.netaxs.com/~raptor/uerf-full.txt

When these problems occur, the system will be unresponsive for several
minutes.

The problems appear to be comletely random (ie, non reproducable). I have
heard that Quantum drives sometimes will not work in DEC systems. Is this
true? Is the drive going bad? There is a terminator on the internal ribbon
cable and on the external SCSI port and there is no floppy drive.

TIA for any help or suggestions.
