Hi Gurus
This is probably not quite the right place for this, but I know there are
quite a few of you out there that use SAMBA, and I know how gret this list
is, so I'm going to try.
One of our users was using an Excel file on his Win95 machine. The file
resides on our Alpha machine running DU3.2G. There was a power failure to
his PC, and when it rebooted, he tried to use the file again, and gets the
message
File is being modified by
<user-name>
Open as Read-only or choose notify to be alerted when it is available
The user is running Excel97, but I think the problem lies with SAMBA.
I looked in the SAMBA lock files directory and found a share file with the
excel files name in it. I removed it, but this made no difference.
Can anyone help me?
TIA
Glenn.
