origianl question was:
the problem is, that remote printing doesn't allow to use print filters.
So our hp5 Laserprinter (JetDirect Interface) writes every
ascii-document in one line, because UN*X send 0A (Linefeed) while the
printer expects 0D0A (CR/LF).
solution:
simply add :rp=text:\ to the appropiat section of your printcap and your
printer will add CR/LF. If you want binary mode add :rp=raw:\ or define
two printers to achieve both!
