Sendmail and Digital UNIX 4.0 hints

Hello.

I'm looking for some information on configuring Sendmail under Digital UNIX
4.0. We have a bunch of client machines running the standard installed
version (v5.65?) and they were recently used by spammers as relays. I am
looking to upgrade them to either 8.8.8 or 8.9.0. Which of these versions is
"better"? Are there any Digital UNIX specific quirks I should know about or
anything that will make the upgrade as painless as possible?

The machines are simple client machines that should only relay locally
generated mail to a central server and should not attempt to deliver or
relay anything else. They all run D-Unix 4.0 in BASE security mode. They are
scheduled to be upgraded to 4.0d and Enhanced security later, but that does
not help now....

I will of course post a summary to the list.

TIA
