Dear System Manglers,
I have just upgraded 2 servers from DEC OSF/1 v 2.0 to DU40.d
Part of the upgrade was to install the latest version of Mailbus 400 MTA.
According to DIGITAL, there is a required patch for DU4.0d for this
product. This patch is UVO105963.
The tape un-tar'd correctly.
The patch README is as follows:
>>This patch fixes an MTA (Msg. Transfer Agent) hang problem. This is a
pre-release patch for Digital >>Unix version V4.0D only. The patch
requires Digital UNIX* V4.0D BL0 Patch kit 1 to be installed >>BEFORE
this module is copied into place. A kernel rebuild is required.
>>
>>This patch is fully supported by Unix Support Engineering. Please
mention the RCS id string if any >>problems are encountered.
>>
>>Save a copy of /sys/BINARY/std_kern.mod to std_kern.mod.orig
>>
>>Copy v40d_std_kern.mod to std_kern.mod
>>Set owner/permissions to match std_kern.mod.orig
>>
>>Rebuild kernel and reboot.
>>
>>cksum: 1642058199 1159408 std_kern.mod
>>
>>RCS id of the pre-release file is
>>
>>$RCSfile: uipc_socket.c,v $ $Revision: 4.3.134.2 $ (DEC) $Date:
1998/05/04 15:16:44 $
I have done all of the pre-requisites above. After renaming and moving
std_kern.mod, I attempted a kernal rebuilt.
During the second time stamp, the rebuild failed with :
loading vmunix.sys
ld:
Error: Undefined:
nxm_extra_factor
*** Exit 1 (ignored)
chmod 755 a.out
chmod: a.out: No such file or directory
*** Exit 4
Stop.
Can anyone give me any advice?
