Allan suggested getting the original versions, which was what I was
going to try. John suggested doing a baseline comparison first, which
I've never had to do, but it looks like that will work. Hopefully the
system will last until tomorrow...
My original question:
I tried installing patch kit 7 on my 4.0B system, which recently started
crashing with the string "m_copym length". I figured install the patch
first, then call Digital. The system already had kit 4 or 5 installed.
During the check phase, patch 537 claimed it wouldn't be installed
because it could not determine the origin of /sys/BINARY/advfs.mod.
Another patch failed due to a similar error regarding ufs.mod (548 I
think). I currently have patch 231 (previous AdvFS consolidated patch)
installed, so advfs.mod should have come from there...
Any ideas why it thinks it's different? Any workarounds?
