Hello gurus,
I'm trying to know what is the meaning of the values of bdev (block device I
suppose) and cdev (char dev). When I do volprint -sl and volprint -vl I get
the following:
Subdisk: rz17-01
info: disk=rz17 offset=0 len=8379040
assoc: vol=usrvol plex=usrvol-01 (offset=0)
flags: open
device: device=rz17 path=/dev/rz17g bdev=8/33798
and
Volume: usrvol
info: len=8379040
type: usetype=fsgen
state: state=ACTIVE kernel=ENABLED
assoc: plexes=usrvol-01,usrvol-02
policies: read=SELECT (round-robin) exceptions=GEN_DET_SPARSE
flags: open writeback
logging: type=NONE
device: minor=7 bdev=40/7 cdev=40/7 path=/dev/vol/rootdg/usrvol
perms: user=root group=system mode=0644
What does mean bdev=8/33798 at the subdisk. Is this some buffers settings?
If this is the case how can I change it. I'm not just asking for fun, but I
have performance problems on one of our systems, and I notice that the bdev
value is 8/1030 on the subdisk and 40/5 on the volume.
Any hints?
