fellow sysadmins,
i have an Alpha Server 1000 and the tape drive is having problems. when i
put a tape in there and type, say "mt status" or whatever other command
for the tape, i get the following error message:
/dev/nrmt0h: No such device or address
i think it probably is a hardware problem and i have called the tech
support for dec alphas but as most tech supports, they said they'll call
back when they get around to it and we all know when that may be...
backups having been getting done for a few days and people around here
are getting really nervous. any ideas?
