Question;
we have 2 servers one is a 2100 with 3.2g and the other is a 1200 with 4.0b
both machines have 10/100 cards but when i type netstat -i the % of
collisions over outputpackets is huge something like 40% on one and 25% on
the other.
i know they are not set up too well on the network but im getting a switch
and that should aleviate some of the traffic.
what i want to know is there other trouble shooting stuff i could look at to
see why the amt of collisions are so high?
like is ther some way of doing a self diagnostic to see if the card is fully
functional
do i use half-duplex or full duplex for my network, (ethernet 10BaseT)

Reply;;
That is not too surprising for a server. A switched network will lower the
number of collision, a 100MB switch will probably lower it to virtually
zero.
