Hello,
because of hardware and DUX update I had to preserve my current
Pathworks Configuration and
restore them after the fresh install.
Thanks to MC.Vialatte_at_cust.univ-bpclermont.fr and Charles Vachon
[cvachon_at_mrn.gouv.qc.ca]
how responded and directed me in the right direction. They suggested to
deinstall (setld -d ) all
Pathworks subsets and you will be asked to save the current
configuration. Further installations
will ask you for including these configuration files.
Unfortunately I didn't work for me - the fresh installation told me
something about corrupt files
and I should correct the problems manualy. But see how I succeeded:
- stop the pathworks and license (if running) daemons
- save all from /var/net/servers (I used simply tar) (and if needed
/var/spool/lpd for printers)
- save /etc/passwd, group, printcap and lprsetup.dat
- make your system changes ( I installed a new raid and DUX 4.0d)
- install a fresh Pathworks as you had running before, stop it
- copy the saved /etc/* and /var/net/* and /var/spool/* back to your new
system
- reboot the machine and you will see a running pathworks with all your
shares, users, printers
and so on
best regards and thank you very much!
Dirk Nerling
