I am preparing to upgrade to DU4.0D next week. After the upgrade I plan to
install the Advanced File System Utilites V4.0D from the Associated
Products CD.
The Release Notes for AdvFS Utilities mention:
There is a known DECthreads bug that causes advfsd to consume all available
cycles on a host. A patch is available for DECthreads that remedies the
problem: CDL #HPAQ206J8.
I am assuming that DECthreads is installed with the OS. I found the
libpthread.so library on my current 4.0B system in /usr/shlib. So, I guess
I need this patch.
I called DEC support about this patch. The guy I talked to said it should
be included in the DU4.0D patch kit #1. He did not sound very sure of
himself and the CLD is not mentioned in the READMEs. I'd like to be sure.
Can anyone confirm that this patch is included in the patch kit? If not,
how do I get it?
