UPDATE: Networker 4.4 problems

I've had two suggestions, one from Knut Hellebo (Knut.Hellebo_at_nho.hydro.com),
and one from Kris Chandrasekhar (Kris.Chandrasekhar_at_digital.com). Knut
suggested I look for a device timout setting in the Server Setup/Details
window of the Networker admin GUI. I couldn't find anything resembling a
timeout value there. Kris suggested I try some debug stuff, which
unfortunately didn't help either.

So I'm still stuck. Does anyone know if DEC'll give an update any time soon?

Original post:
]I know that Networker 4.4 is known to be bad, but has anyone run across this
]little problem, and if so, what's the fix:

]If a tape fills up during backups (we have no jukebox; fairly small network),
]frequently, when I go to unmount it and put another one in, while it's
waiting
]for a tape, the nsrmmd process never lets go of the device, so it can't open
the
]new tape for a re-label. I have to shut down nsr and restart, which of
course
]aborts the backup.

]This is the NSR that came with 4.0D; we have licenses to make it more than
]SingleServer.

]help?

]Thanks.
