We are preparing to migrate users from OpenVMS to DUNIX. Many of these users
have enormous amounts of files.
Searching through the archives, I noticed a list of four ways to do this:
1.) tar the directories
2.) NFS mount the directories and copy
3.) Use xdir
4.) Use rcp (Multinet only)
We're running UCX as our TCP/IP stack on the VMS side. I've tried using tar,
but the VMS version of tar dies on certain files. I haven't found xdir yet.
This leaves NFS, which I haven't been able to work. If I try mounting the
VMS directories, I get the following error:
Bad MNT RPC: sable.adelphi.edu:/dra3: RPC: Authentication error; why =
Invalid client credential
If I try mounting the Unix directories on the VMS side, I get a device error.
I realize this is more of a VMS question than a DUNIX question, but I'm
hoping someone on the list has done this before and can offer insight.
