Original message:

Managers, over the past two weeks we've had namedb die on us several times
during the night. We start it up in the morning and works fine for a
couple of days, but the process is killed mysteriously. This happens on
both machines running DU 3.2c. Anyone knows what this could be and is
there a fix? thx...

Many thanks to the following managers, which responded promptly and
effectively:

clay.porter_at_persimmon.com
brianh_at_netins.net

ALLAN_at_mnhep1.hep.umn.edu

Following is the URL that explains the condition and the apparent attack on
systems running the original BIND that came with DU. All have recommended
an upgrade to either 8.1.2 or at minimum to 4.9.7.
