dns 8.1.2

If I install 8.1.2, will there be any problems with programs already
compiled with the old dns routines for lookups? What about new programs?
I would think there should be no problem since the client request should
still be honored regardless with of which version, 4 or 8. But, I just
want to make sure I was not missing anything.

I will, of course, be glad to summerize.
