Hi managers,
My network administrator has added a new switch to accelerate our network
(100 Mb instead of 10Mb). So I've tried to change the ethernet controller
(DEC TULIP 10/100) configuration of my 4000 box at the SRM prompt as said
in the " System Drawer User's Guide " page 5-46 (" set ewa0_mode fastfd "
for 100BaseT full duplex instead of " twisted-pair " for 10BaseT). When I
reboot, I can see a message saying that 100BaseT mode has been selected,
but on the same line, I can read " full duplex : no link ". The led of the
switch for full duplex is not up, though the 100Mb leds on the switch and
ethernet controller of the 4000 are up.
Here's ifconfig -tu0 results :

# ifconfig tu0
tu0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX>

and here's uerf :

tu0: DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet
                                         _Interface, hardware address:
                                         _00-00-F8-30-24-B2
                                        tu0: console mode: selecting
100BaseTX
_(UTP) port: full duplex: no link

What's wrong ?
Regards,
JD
