Sendmail8.9 and 8.8.8 problems

Dear Managers,

I compiled both of sendmail8.9 and 8.8.8. When I start them
messages appear such this:

Cannot bind to map mail.aliases in domain rkkszk: no such map in
server's domain: Operation would block

We are running Digital Unix 4.0b with NIS and enhanced security.

Any help would be appreciated.
