I recently purchased a TZ891 (with additional drive), to install on a
8400. I am running DUNIX 4.0B, PK6. I am unable to get the TZ891
recognized. I have a "Y" cable connected to the adaptor (kftia). One
end of the "y" is terminated, the other connects to a 25M cable which
plugs directly into one of the loader scsi connections on the TZ891.
The rear of the TZ891 has 6 FWDiff connectors, 2 for loader, 2 for drive
1, 2 for drive 2. Attempts to isolate just one drive, as well as
daisy-chaining all these devices fail to get the system to recognize
them on powerup. SCSI ID of kftia is 7, id of loader is 0, id of drives
are 4 and 5. Nothing else is on this bus. Termination at the kftia
allows the system to boot up without error. Leaving the 891 connected
results in the system repeatedly attempting to talk on scsi 2 (the bus
with the tz891 attached).
What else can be causing problems on this bus? Thanks.
