We got a DEC PCXCV-Cx, -Dx(capatible with VGA) monitor to use
with our alpha4000.
This monitor works fine within the SRM and AlphaBIOS consoles.
But attempting to boot from the DU install CD works fine until
after the the X server is started then it freezes and I don't get
the Installation Setup window. Yes the console variable is set to "graphics".
And if it wasn't graphics-capable(which it is!) I should still get the
text-based Installation screen. But it just sits there.
The server has a S3 Trio VGA card and the monitor is plugged into
it's port. But the behavior indicates that the monitor is incompatible
with the server.
Any ideas?
