Hello all,
I have been trying to build both FSF Emacs 19.34 and XEmacs 20.4 under
DU 4.0D with DECs compiler but to no avail. The pre-compiled version
of XEmacs is for 3.2G and barfs complaining about the wrong version on
libcurses (something about it being xpg4 under 4.0D).
Niether FSF Emacs 19.34 nor XEmacs 20.4 compile complaining about
re-definition of function prototypes in unistd.h - the best bit is
that the definition they complain about is in stdio.h! It seems to
stem from _OSF_SOURCE being defined which is rather strange.
FSF Emacs 20.2 compiles but is unusable (VM doesn't run :-( ).
Any pointers (there used to be a page on XEmacs for OSF/1 3.2x at CERN
ages ago but it seems to have gone) would be more than welcome.
Thanks,
Arrigo
