Dear Alpha-OSF-Managers,
I've just added a DEC 10/100 ethernet card to a spare PCI slot in a DEC
AlphaStation 255/300 (has an onboard 10Mbps NIC), running DU4.0B (patched
once, about 6 months ago), Firmware revision 6.6. "show dev" at the eprom
prompt lists the device (ewb0) and when I boot using 'genvmunix' the
device is recognised and runs fine -
tu0: DECchip 21143: Revision: 3.0
tu0: auto negotiation capable device tu0 at pci0 slot 12
tu0: DEC TULIP (10/100) Ethernet Interface, hardware address: 00-00-F8-06-04-24
tu0: auto negotiation off: selecting 100BaseTX (UTP) port: half duplex
If I then build a custom kernel (doconfig -a) and reboot, the device is no
longer recognised. And this error appears in the boot strings -
Module 1011:19 not in pci option table, can't configure it
At the moment I'm running multi-user off the generic kernel (since I need
the 100Mb support), but I would really like to build a custom kernel!
Any ideas?
