Maybe the description by me was not clear enough so i try to explain
now. I authenticated my workstation. The authentication worked fine as
described in the latest summary by Lawrence Decker. But after I logged in
and the time has come to show the CDE desktop nothig has happened.
The key to the solution were the logs in $HOME/.dt/errorlog and
$HOME/.dt/startlog
the hint supplied by Steve. It said that it can't open the display. You have
to modify the file $HOME/.dtprofile and uncomment the last line. Then the
DISPLAY variable will be red from your .profile, .login (depends on shell
you are using). Actually it's explained in the .dtprofile file.
