Result:

The DEC 3000/300 uses a special type of SIMM for the 32 MB modules.
There are two possible sizes, 8 MB and 32 MB. The 8 MB is a normal,
72-pin, 36-bit (true parity), 70 ns or better DRAM SIMM. The 32 MB
modules are otherwise same, but they have a resistor, that is used
to detect module size. Thus, the 32 MB SIMMs are somewhat special.
If normal SIMMs are used, they are incorrectly detected as 8 MB
modules, but still work ok.

The special 32 MB SIMMs can be purchased at least from Kingston and
Dataram and they cost a little more than normal SIMMs, in the range
$170..200 for 64 MB.
