OK I'm this close || to getting it working :-) but still at least one
problem is bugging me.
I upgraded to Sendmail 8.9.0 after several people started using us as
a spam relay station. Problem is, some of our own people telnet into
our system from ISP's and use us as a relay. I'm trying to use the
access db feature in the new Sendmail, but the mail is still rejected.
It's probably something simple, but I'm missing it. Does anyone else
have better vision than I?
Here's the rejection from the mail.log file:
Jul 6 11:16:57 ns sendmail[9400]: LAA09400: ruleset=check_rcpt,
arg1=<hddtech_at_us.ibm.com>, relay=ad66-070.arl.compuserve.com
[199.174.194.70], reject=550 <hddt ech_at_us.ibm.com>... Relaying denied
I added these entries into the access file:
compuserve.com RELAY
the_user_at_encore.com RELAY
Our user is coming in via compuserve, so I thought that would do it, but
no. So I added his email name as well. Still no luck.
I added this feature:
FEATURE(access_db, hash -o /etc/mail/access)
To the local.mc file, reran the m4 job to rebuild the sendmail.cf file
and restarted sendmail to make certain it was in force.
I can't think of anything else, but obviously there is *something*.
Thanks for any suggestions and I'll summarize when we get this
figured out.
