SCSI extender and ASE

dear fellow sysadmins,

we are discussing how to realize a backup computer center. All our production
server are now clustered with ASE using FWD SCSI.
Do you have experiences with SCSI extenders (SCSI to fiber) to increase the
distance between the hosts in this environment?
Could one then simply move one member of the cluster to a different location
2000m away?
How is the timing/bandwidth of such devices?
Does it affect ASE?

Web-pages related to SCSI extenders:

Thanks,
Peter
