Removing Retired Account Icons from DXaccounts on DU4.0d

Greetings,

I am try to do some work on a Alpha 1000a running DU4.0d and was
trying to remove some old accounts using the Dxaccount GUI. I am not
given a delete icon, but rather a Retire icon. This does not remove
the account icon and leaves a retired entry in the /etc/passwd file.
If a try to create an account with the same user, it will not allow
me to do so. It still sees the retired account as having that name.
I was wondering if I deleted the retired entry from the /etc/passwd
file if it would remove the retired icon from the GUI.

Thanks in advance for your assistance,
