SUMMARY: syslog stopped working

        First, I would like to apologize for not checking the archives
first, usually I do.

        It turns out that this is documented in the release notes for 4.0d
(4.3.7) and it was a simple matter of creating a file /etc/syslog.auth
with a list of the remote hosts that are allowed to log to the server.
