Digital Unix 4.0D O/S and StorageWorks

Hi,

Please help me clear up a question. We have been that told generating
the
O/S partitions (Boot; User; Swap) from the bootable distribution CD on
install directly to an HSZ controller unit is unwise. We have a
StorageWorks
Enterprise Raid Array 10000 that is used for Oracle, and were told by a
consultant doing the O/S install that we would be better off setting up on
a storage shelf connected to a scsi controller (KZ-whatever) than use
the mirroring and auto-sparing ESA10000. This seems very counter
intuitive after 23 years of Digital experience (VMS, NT, very light or
almost non-existant D-Unix) and having worked with StorageWorks
gleefully for 10 years.
