Disaster recovery by booting from tape?!?

Hi!

I have a question for you all experienced SysAdmins out there....

My objective is this:

I need to create a bootable tape to reduce the time I spend recovering
a totaly crashed system disk (no it's not mirrored and I know it's stupid!).
The most important stuff is that I want the whole root volume to reside
on a tape (I would prefer to have the whole system disk there but...) and boot
from it. Making it possible to recover the whole system by mounting all other
volumes and recreate the system from there. This tape would contain all info on
the AdvFS volumes and all the other interesting stuff to get the system going again.

So the Question is:

Is anything like this possible??? It was briefly mentioned at the LISA'98 Legato BOF
and I need it really bad!!!

If anyone got an answer to this question or a hint in what direction I should
look for info about this, I would appreciate any answers sent...

Thanks in advance!

/Mikael
