>From Dr. Tom Blinn:-
... I do have a copy of the document you reference, and I can tell you that it
was written before the
GUI existed, and has no documentation that would be helpful to you. There is
a LOT of new functionality planned in the system management area and in the
area of event management (which is what you're talking about) for the next
major release (due out next summer), but there are no significant changes in
the near term (i.e., in a V4.0x release)....
>From Mark Ray:-
A little-known set of tools in DU 4.0D may help you out with administering
AdVFS. Have a look in "/var/opt/pm/PMscripts". There, you'll find several
"health-checking" programs to run against AdVFS filesystems. These are
AdvfsIO, advfstuner, and a few others. The trick to these guys is that you
have to supply the node-name as an argument to them whenever you run them. So
a command-line would look something like this:
advfsIO mymachinename
The utilities will come back with usage statistics, fill-warnings, and
tips
on how to set (among many other things) high- and low-water marks for
filesystems.
Hope this helps!

We have started to play with the tools Mark mentioned. I have also asked Tom to
forward my questions to the file system product managers.
