Subject: Printer questions

John could you post this question
Thanks Alan

I am trying to capture, convert and output graphics and text to a PCL
type printer (HP855C) using the parallel port.
The xwd command is being used to capture the graphics. This appears to
work successfully. When attempting to convert the data to PCL format
using the xpr command the message "xpr: Could not read xwd file's image"
is reported. An example of the commands used is as follows:
xwd -out wind.xwd
xpr -device ljet -out wind.pcl wind.xwd

The O.S. is Digital Unix 4.0D.

What is the correct way to capture, convert and print color graphics to
the HP855C printer?
Is there special initialization, which should be done to the port or
printer prior to or after printing?
ASCII text must also be output and printed by the same printer.
Are there additional information and/or examples, which would help us?
