Managers,

Thanks for the help. As usual:-)
I received a lot of useful replies.
A couple of interesting points for me,
about drawbacks, are pasted at the
end of this msg
Also arrived msgs about good experiences
using Fuji tapes.
My end proposal to the boss :-)
was to keep using Digital tapes in spite
of not so cheaper prices.
DEc tapes are good as far as I know and known.
Perhaps I was too much conservative but
I'm really happy with DEC traditional
technical quality by the other hand,
for me it's difficult to understand
the reason for so big price
difference.
Thanks to :

Stephen LaBelle
John Warren

Zack Ellis

Digital does not recommend FUJI tapes, but the ones that I have indicate
that they were manufactured by Maxell. Look for the code on the back of the
tape. If it begins with MA, then I think it is a Maxell tape.

We used to use Fuji tapes on our TLZ894, then Compaq informed us they could
no longer support our TLZ894 if we continued to use them

So we started using Digital tapes and have had no problems since.

We still use Fuji tapes in TZ89s without problems
