Hi,
Quick question -- I have tried to get syslog to work its magic on a dedicated
log partition called /logs. I put a syslog.dated in there and then rebooted
the machine. The syslog.conf has entries like this:
auth.info /logs/syslog.dated/auth
Now, according to the docs, syslog should create and rotate the logs based
on date.
It is not... It just simply creates the files in the syslog.dated and not
under the "date".
Of course it worked fine when I left everything under /var, but when I
moved it....
thanks
