Hello All:
How important is groff to the functionality of Sendmail8.9.2? As far as I
can tell, groff is used to generate Sendmail's man pages. The reason why I
asked is that I am attempting to install the new Sendmail on a system
running Digital Unix 4.0d that does not have groff (nor the C++ compiler
required to compile groff). To complicate matters, I have never installed
Sendmail before. Sendmail's man pages are not necessary on this system for
a number of reasons, not to mention the fact that
http://www.sendmail.org
has a pretty good set of docs there anyway. Does anyone know if its okay
to compile Sendmail8.9.2 without groff and if so, how? I could not find
anything on this topic in the various readme files that come with Sendmail
nor in my Sendmail book or on the Web site.
