Rebuilding /usr/.smdb.

I'm running 4.0B, and went to install the SWXCRMGR package, and
discovered that /usr/.smdb. has been wiped out. I don't remember
deleting it, but it's defintely been cleaned out. [I think it's
incredibly stupid to try to hide a critical database like this in a
subdirectory, btw.]

Is there any way to rebuild it short of reinstalling? If the answer is
"no", expect some downtime on the alpha-osf-managers list in the near
future. :-(
