Hi DU Admins
The problem was that I wasn't able to mount 2 of a group of CDs I
recently burnt on some alphas even though I could mount them on a PC,
a Mac and on some older alphas running DU.
I've got some more information about this following some discussions
with Gary Field of Digital.
The problem is with Toshiba CD drives and is not specific to Digital
machines. I couldn't mount the problem CDs on a PC with a Toshiba
drive either.
I still think the size is critical. The Toshiba drives can read CDFS
file systems greater than 600 MB but so far I haven't had any success
on these drives with CDs from our Yamaha burner greater than 580 MB and
I haven't had any failures with CDs less than 550 MB. Other drives
have no problems with either.
