As some of you may have heard, we are renaming the Digital UNIX product to be
called Tru64 UNIX (so of course the one marketed by Compaq will be sold with
the Compaq brand name as well). There are also some new really neat Alpha
systems, including one that I believe will be marketed with no licenses for
those who prefer to run Linux on their Alpha systems.

Remember, if you're still running a release prior to V4.0D, you need to think
about that upgrade to get Year 2000 support. And you need to be at V4.0D or
V4.0E to upgrade to V4.0F if you want FibreChannel disk support or the latest
TruCluster software with its enhanced features and hardware support.

Contrary to what some of the press might be saying, we expect to have the V5.0
release out this summer. It's the prerequisite for TruCluster software V5.0,
and that's really neat stuff -- lots of improvements that many of you have
been asking for.

Read about it on the Web..

Today Compaq announced both the renaming of the DIGITAL UNIX operating
system to Compaq Tru64 UNIX as well as the following UNIX products:

   * Tru64 UNIX V4.0F as the latest version of the UNIX operating system
   * Enhanced UNIX clustering in TruCluster software V1.6
   * Internet AlphaServer System Software V4.2
   * Enterprise ToolKit for Visual Studio V1.2
   * Enhanced Java Support
   * Previewed Tru64 UNIX V5.0 and TruCluster software V5.0

Included in the announcement is expanded commitment from key ISVs
affirming their support of Tru64 UNIX as a tier one enterprise solutions
platform.

For additional information on the name change and product announcements
access the Compaq Tru64 UNIX Web site http://www.compaq.com/tru64unix
which has been updated to reflect the new name and Compaq design.

Other related announcements include new AlphaServer DS20 and the new
AlphaPowered Professional Workstation XP1000. You may access these
