Changing subnet mask on TruCluster 1.5

Cluster experts,

I have configured a pair of 4100s running DU4.0d and Available Server
1.5, patch kit #3.
Each server has just one DE500 NIC.

CS01 has an IP of 192.168.1.1, netmask 255.255.255.0
CS02 has an IP of 192.168.1.2, netmask 255.255.255.0

These are the default netmasks. With this setup the ASE works fine.

However,

I am trying to subnet the network using 255.255.240.0 for the netmask.
I deleted all cluster services; stopped the cluster managers; changed
the netmasks; deleted and recreated the asecdb configuration database.

Now, when I attempt to recreate the cluster with asemgr, it fails with
the following messages appearing in the daemon.log files of each server
(I have aselogger running on both servers).

CS01
-------
...
15:03:43: ...local HSM warning: Can't ping CS02 over the network.
15:03:50: ...CS01 AseMgr Error: New Director hasn't started up yet.
15:03:55: ...local HSM warning: Network partition detected between local
host and member CS02.
...

CS02
-------
...
15:03:40: ...local AseLogger: ***ALERT ***Possible security breach
attempt: connect request from non-member 'CS01'.
15:03:40: ...local AseLogger Notice: connection refused by connect
callback
...

The ASE agents can ping one another through the Shared Bus, but not over
the network.
I have no static routes set up. Don't have gated or routed running.
I can ping the servers OK. I can ping the new broadcast address of
192.169.15.255, and get responses from both servers.

I went so far as to remove the patches and TCR subsets and reinstall
them with the NIC configured for subnetting. I got the same results.
TruClusters seems to be very inflexible to changing the NIC setting of
the primary interface cards.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Kevin Erickson
