Hello Digital Unix (aka tru64 Unix, osf/1) World!
This weekend I went to install digital unix 4.0e onto a Alpha 2000. The
system booted the install script, &c. off of the cd-rom ok. As the
script started to populate the new system drive it went boom on each
file it tried to install.
The errors *look* like they came from the cdrom and were the tone of
"data over run" or "data overflow / under flow".
Is this unique to 4.0e? Could it be a case of the cd-rom needed
cleaned, or is this a larger problem?
The cdrom device is rz4 (rrd45) and the target boot device is rz2
(rz1cb-cs); according to the Alpha server 2000 any way.
Thank you for your time.
