HP laser CR-LF

Hello all,
I have an HP4M+ which I can print to just fine except for one problem.
When it prints a file it does a LF but doesn't do a CR so the output looks
like:

This is the first line.
                       This is the second line.
                                               This is the third line.
                                                                      etc.

How can I force a CR with each LF.
