IDE CDROM and multimedia devices

Can someone point me to the man page about installing
IDE/ATAPI CDROM drives? I tried connecting one, but I
don't see it in "show dev" and I don't even know what
name it should appear under... This is DU 4.0D that I
am talking about. When I was installing DU, I read
something to the effect that DU4.0D supports IDE/
ATAPI CDROMS, although it cannot boot from one -- and
that is fine, I have a SCSI CDROM for booting, but I
would like to connect an IDE CDROM as well.

Two more questions:

    (1) Is there a cheap (modern) sound card that is
recognized by the msb device driver? I tried a
few "windows system" compatible cards, but setting
the IRQ and IOBASE addresses doesn't seem to make
it register with the device driver (the kernel says
that the card is configured but not present). So I
am wondering if it looks for more than the PCXBJ
handle and rejects the cards I've tried on that
account. Oh, I have an AVA01-AA which works, but
I would like to find a replacement for it.

    (2) I am wondering whether to buy a used FullVideo
board or the replacement product (Osprey150) which
are equally priced. Can someone offer comments/
suggestions or a comparison of these two?
