randd in loop

We are running DU4.0D on an AS2100.

Intermittently the randd daemon which is part of DCE begins to use 97%
of the CPU and must be killed.

We do not need this daemon. Does anyone know of a fix or a way to
prevent the daemon from running. It appears to be started by the dced
daemon which is object code and cannot be modified.

Any help appreciated.
