HP printing using pcfof/printcap

I am printing to an HP over IP (ct=tcp). I have setup a pcf file to print out in the required format. I would like to print 90 characters in portrait. If I change printcap pw to more than 80, it prints in landscape. Is there a setting to allow this portrait page width?
